Cameron Mathison
Cameron was born in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada on August 25th, 1969. He attended Thornlea High School in Thornhill, Ontario where he spent the majority of his life. Although Cameron always wanted to be an actor, he was strong in Math and Sciences in school. He attended McGill University in Montreal and graduated with a Bachelors of civil engineering. Upon graduation, he began modeling to earn extra money. Fortunately, he did well and was able to continue for four years. However, he was ready for a change.
Cameron began taking acting classes and started landing roles very quickly. Some of his roles include: Atlanta in the Miramax feature 54 (starring Mike Myers, Neve Campbell, Salma Hayek, Ryan Phillipe)... Rick Eastman in the ABC movie of the week Any Mother’s Son (starring Bonnie Bedelia)... Mike Murphy in the Paramount movie of the week The Defenders (starring Beau Bridges, Martha Plimpton, E.G. Marshall)... Masked Man in the TV series FX. In addition, he also acted in other smaller roles and many commercials.
Cameron joined All My Children in January 1998 as a conman looking to score some quick cash. His role grew over time and became one of the show's more popular characters. His work on AMC earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002.
When Cameron is not acting he enjoys photography, basketball (he played university ball at McGill, captain of his last season), golf (he is about an 11 handicap), swimming, and especially skiing. His parents live part time in Colorado and he skis there 20-30 days a year.
